Foundation Stage
Pupils in the Reception class will take home words to learn, reading books and handwriting letters to practise. Please help them to learn their words and remember to hear them read.
Key Stage 1
Year One and Year Two children have reading books. They may be asked to undertake other small tasks at home which arise from their lessons. There will be one piece of formal homework each week. Please try to bring homework to school on time.
Key Stage 2
All children in Key stage 2 will be given weekly homework.
Spellings will be given to the children to learn weekly and there may also be numeracy and other literacy tasks given on a regular basis. The older children will be expected to complete some class work at home and to do more open ended research in a certain topic.
Homework books may be provided; please help your child in organising their homework and looking after their books!
Children in Year 6 may be given their passwords to access SAM LEARNING, to further their understanding of SATs type questions later in the year. If internet access is available to your child, please encourage them to log on.
Presentations
Children may be asked to make short presentations by their teachers. These vary according to each class and maybe about items relevant to the child or the curriculum.
