Here are a few photos of our children in the swimming pool at Astley Cooper school today. One young lady in 4 Willow has worked very hard and although she couldn’t swim last week, has swum today without a float. Well done to everyone 
Our Football and Netball teams have played extremely well this week and we are very proud of them. Great team work everyone.
Our Netball team played Maple Grove winning 10-6.
Both Football teams were out this week
The Blue team played Dundale in Tring loosing 6-1.
The Red team played Holtsmere End winning 4-0.
Great results everyone.
Congratulations to year 3 and 4 football last night, they played very well winning 4-0 and 4-1 against Holtsmere End.
Well done to both the red and blue teams for competing in their first matches of the term. Blue team competed well against Bishops Wood with a very positive and energetic performance. Although we lost 5-1 the children played amazingly and were able to stop many goals. Red team played last night against Flamstead ,resulting in a 12 goal thriller with Red team narrowly losing 5-7. Well done to both teams and we look forward to seeing how you progress through the football season.
Well done to all the children in Oak and Redwood for taking part in a key stage 2 cross country competition on Friday 11th October. The children ran over 1km and many reached 2km. We had many children in the top 25%. All children represented the school perfectly and we were very proud of their efforts.
Maple class took part in a friendly tournament with other year five children from a number of schools in the area. The children were divided into three teams of seven with two subs per team. Each team played either four or five games.
The children had a lovely time practising their skills against the other schools and came back a little muddy but proud of the effort that they put into each game.
We are delighted to announce that we, Aycliffe Drive Primary School, have achieved the School Games Silver LEVEL Mark Award for the 2018/19 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in
2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

With a total of young people competing in local inter-school
competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.
As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of
participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that
the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.
