Gifted and Talented

At Aycliffe Drive we wish to help our children of all abilities reach their potential. To this end, not only do we support those children with special needs, but we also encourage gifted children to reach the highest possible levels.  To achieve this, each teacher identifies those students who are performing above average levels.  In Key stage 1 these children are noted and given all the support they need within the class environment. At key stage 2 this is supplemented with special lessons.   After school, art, dance and sports clubs provide for children who are talented in those areas.
