This year is the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. To commemorate this, we had a whole school assembly with singing from the whole school. They sang “We Remember”, ” Pack up your Troubles” and “It’s a Long Way to Tipperary”. Out KS2 choir sang “In Flanders Fields”. We had a moments silence for reflection which was ended respectfully by the “The Last Post”.
The children presented their work in the assembly with some lovely work shown by Willow class.
Oak displayed some of their art work and preformed some of their poems
A lovely display by the children from Birch
This is our KS2 Poppy display which you can see on the KS2 playground. There is a lone purple poppy to commemorate all the war animals.
The children have worked together in their Buddy groups, led by the Buddy group leaders the children have made poppies, the symbol of Remembrance.
