Sponsored walk to Windsor Castle

Reception have been braving the weather and each group have managed to walk two and a half miles (twelve miles in total) we are nearly half way!

Egyptian Day

We have had a wonderful morning learning about the Egyptians. We have been making canopic jars, perfume bowls, soap sculptures, lamp burning, tomb painting, amulet making and mummification. This afternoon is banquet time!

Enterprise Week

Today the children are working hard on their business enterprises, the car wash is seeing a steady stream of customers.  They have even put Mr Channa to work!!    

Year 5 Computing

Last week Mr Perry and Mr Green worked with all the year 5s, learning what makes a computer work. We discussed the main components and then the children set to a pile of old and broken PCs, trying to find the parts we discussed and seeing how a computer is (dis)assembled.

Able Writers Day

We were lucky enough to have the poet Zeal Zetter in last week who worked with a variety of children from various schools. They worked on writing and performing their own poems and worked extremely hard and I hope got a lot out of the day.      

Aycliffe KS2 Choir

The whole school listened with rapture to the choir this afternoon. Thank you to Mrs Chinn and Mrs Mayo for teaching them -well done to all!

Book Character Assembly

We ended our book week with a fabulous assembly. There were some great costumes and the children went to a lot of effort. Thank you to everyone who took part including the parents who helped with the costumes.
