Year 5 and 6 Netball match

The first  year 5 and 6  netball match was a great success! The children played against St.Thomas Corrum and won with an outstanding 8-0. The children performed brilliantly and as a school we felt very proud of this achievement! Our use of communication and team skills were outstanding! Go team Aycliffe! 🙂

Lest we forget

Redwoods Egyptian museum.

We turned our classroom into a museum to exhibit all the wonderful artefacts that we have created at home. We opened our museum to visitors and we were very happy to see so many of our adults.

Egyptian Day

We have had a wonderful morning learning about the Egyptians. We have been making canopic jars, perfume bowls, soap sculptures, lamp burning, tomb painting, amulet making and mummification. This afternoon is banquet time!

Redwood Pyramid construction!

Our pyramids are under construction, we are working in groups to build our models, following our plans.

Redwood Forest School

For our history topic about Ancient Egyptians, we have decided to make our own pyramids out of clay. We went to forest school to make our own clay bricks and have used our maths skills to plan and design and estimated how many bricks we may need to complete our pyramids.

Hockey Year 5 and 6

On 20th June a Hockey coach from West Herts Hockey club came to school and ran some sessions with the year 5 and 6 pupils. They were taught basic skills as well as playing fun games.   

Redwood Legal Eagles

We were very lucky to have a visit from two local magistrates, they spoke to us about the criminal justice system. We had our own trial in class and found it very interesting.

World Cup Games Day

On 27th June the whole school enjoyed a World Cup day organised by our Game On coaches. Every house colour group competed against each other and represented a different country from the World Cup.
